Below are a few answers to questions you might have about this new feature:

    How has the process of generating new ad code changed?

    On the 'Get Ads' page of the 'AdSense Setup' tab, you'll find the same code generation wizard you've used before. At the end of the wizard, you'll now be prompted to provide a name for the ad unit you've just created. We recommend using a descriptive name so that you'll remember where you pasted this ad unit. For instance, use names like "Homepage Leaderboard, example.com" or "Top 300x250, Sports pages."

    Why do I need to name my new ad units now?

    With this new feature, all your new ad code will have a name and an unique ad slot ID. This will help you remember them so you can make changes to them later directly on the 'Manage Ads' page. As noted above, please be as specific as possible when naming your ad units and include information such as location, ad size, and domain.

    Will the old ad code on my sites still work?

    Any ad code you've generated in the past will continue to work as normal. However, please note that the old ad code will not automatically be updated to include this feature. If you'd like to apply this new feature to your old ad units, you can import the code and save the new settings.

    Why don't I see anything after adding a new ad unit to my site?

    If you're implementing a newly created ad unit on your site, the ad unit may not appear for up to 10 minutes while our servers are informed about the settings for the new unit. Don't feel like waiting? Simply use the Preview function on the 'Manage Ads' page to check out your updated pages immediately.

    I made some changes to my ads, but nothing changed on my site. What happened?

    Just as noted above, any changes to the ad unit may take up to 10 minutes to be visible. Feel free to use the Preview function to see your changes immediately.

    How do I change the size of my ad units on the 'Manage Ads' page?

    Unfortunately, size is one of the few things you can't change with this new feature. To change the size of your ads, you'll need to visit the 'Get Ads' page to generate a new ad unit.

    How do I delete some of the ad units I created?

    Right now, it isn't possible to delete ad units from within your account. This is designed to help avoid instances where an active ad units might be accidentally deleted. However, ad units that have not generated impressions for 7 days will become 'inactive' and will automatically be hidden. You can check the 'Show inactive AdSense units' box to unhide them.     • Paypal is the standard. Whether we like it or not, Paypal is the de-facto, it's what everyone uses, everyone has an account and everyone knows how the system works. Okay, not "everyone" who is online uses Paypal, but chances are if a person has made an online purchase before they know what Paypal is and how it works. The awareness factor is only going to increase as more people become comfortable with online shopping.
    • People treat their Paypal accounts like play money. Initially I was frustrated that Paypal kept my money in a "paypal account" and I had to withdraw the money before I could see it in my bank account. This was one of my original complaints in the Paypal Vs Paymate debate. Paymate deposits my money directly into my bank account (minus fees) while Paypal pools my money in a virtual account where it gains no interest and runs the risk of being frozen, as so many Paypal horror story victims recount. I thought this was a bad thing.
    • EBay creates Paypal dependent consumers. The most common form of online commerce is eBay. Many thousands of people are first introduced to buying and selling on the Web thanks to the miracle that is EBay, either by selling or buying something at auction or under a "buy it now" purchase. As we all know Paypal is well integrated with eBay and many first time eBay users will very quickly become first time Paypal users as well. It's very likely they will keep a balance in Paypal purely as "auction money" that they spend at eBay. This process is where they first experience the "play money" psychology and at some point in the future when an eBay user decides to buy outside of eBay, they will feel very comfortable using Paypal, yet they may consider using their credit card not safe.     First, I opened the stylecatcher and bingo.. My problem with MT 4 beta 7 was solved. Now I can find button to apply my new style. I can select the themes I like to.

    A couples months ago, Paypal Indonesia could not add funds. I had tried to add funds into my Paypal account and I got this message:

    Your PayPal Indonesia account is a limited, send-only PayPal account. You absolutely have NO ABILITY at the moment to receive any funds and you can send funds only after you have attached a valid credit card to your PayPal account. You can't also fund your account. When making an online purchase using PayPal, PayPal will automatically charge your credit card with the transaction amount.

    What's that means? It's means I can not add any funds into my Paypal account. If I want to send money or buy something, PayPal will automatically charge my credit card with the transaction amount. Therefore my Paypal balance always US$0 :)

    Today, I try to add funds and I got this new message:

    By adding a checking or savings account, you can transfer funds from your bank account to your PayPal account using Electronic Funds Transfer.

    Unfortunately, I can not add funds from my Indonesian local bank even from my credit card that I had attached to my PayPal account. I can add funds from US bank account only, a checking or savings account in USA. One more important note is once I add funds to myPayPal account, I will not be able to withdraw those funds. Hmm...

    In this point, I need US Bank. The problem is how can I have US bank account coz I am live in Indonesia? Don't worry. I have a solution for this. You can have US Bank account from accentcardvisa. For more detail about this you can contact me. I will write about this in next post ;)

    Some important note for me:

    • Now, I can add funds to my Paypal,
    • I can add funds from US bank only,
    • I need US Bank account,
    • Once I add funds to myPayPal account, I will not be able to withdraw those funds.

    Perhaps it's looks ridiculous, I can add fund from US Bank but I will not able to withdraw those funds. But, just two my cents, it's a good point for Paypal Indonesia. We can add US Bank, we can add funds from that US bank, hopefully we will able to withdraw our funds in our Paypal account. At least we can receive money soon. Amen! ;)

    Here is how to install Lightbox2 in Movable Type 4:
    • First, you need to download Lightbox2 javascript file.
    • Extract this file into your local PC.
    • Create a new folder, eg. lightbox, in your web site's root.
    • Upload all files to lightbox folder.

    Tweaking Lightbox2 in Movable Type 4

    After uploaded all files you need to edit your template to make Lightbox2 works on your Movabel Type. You will need to include these three Javascript files in your header (in this order). To do this, open head template and insert this following code:

    Luckily creating a sitemap and even keeping tabs on how often Googlebot visits your website, could not be easier with Movable Type.

    Here are how to make Google Sitemap for Movable Type:
    • Create a new template called sitemap.xml or something similar and add the contents of this sitemap file to the template.
    • Link the template to a file name like sitemap.xml as well.
    • Click save and rebuild your site.
    • Now every time you rebuild your site a new sitemap.xml file will be built for Google to spider.
    You need to let Google know where to find your sitemap. Open up your web browser and enter: 
    http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ping?sitemap=http://your_url/sitemap.xml

    Verify Google Sitemap

    You need to verify your Google Sitemap:
    • You can to login into your Google Sitemap account or you can create a new account if you did not have it yet.
    • Submit your site url, eg. http://www.supriyadisw.com.
    • You need verify your site. You can choose verification method by add a meta tag or upload an HTML file.
    • After your site got verified, you need to submit your sitemap. You can do it by submit the URL to the XML file you just generated. Be sure to check it first to make sure it looks OK.
